  • SAFIA JAMA

    Safia Jama is well-known in the Atlanta community as having a heart of gold. She has worked at New American Pathways, a refugee resettlement agency, for twenty years and currently serves as their Resettlement & Resource Navigation Manager. Her experience is unparalleled. She manages a diverse staff from over ten countries of origin and supervises programs that help resettle approximately 550 refugees per year from all over the world! As a widowed mother of nine and a refugee herself, Ms. Jama can relate to the challenges that refugees face.

  • IBRAHIM AWAD

    Ibrahim is the founder and owner of The Awad Law Firm, where he counsels and supports clients throughout the greater Atlanta metro region and surrounding areas who have legal needs involving criminal defense or personal injury law. He has become an invaluable advocate to members of the Muslim community who are dealing with highly complex legal challenges regarding their constitutional rights. Ibrahim is a graduate of Kennesaw State University and Georgia State College of Law.

  • OMNIA ABDEL-GAWAD

    Omnia is a professional executive, life and grief coach who has spent over 20 years helping hundreds of people achieve personal and professional success. She is the founder of Aspirations Coaching, a company whose mission is to help people heal from trauma, overcome grief and conquer their challenges to lead healthy, happy and fulfilling lives. Since relocating to Georgia, she has also been actively involved with Noor Family Services (NFS), a non-profit organization dedicated to helping survivors of domestic violence.

  • NOSAYBA EL-SAYED

    Dr. Nosayba El-Sayed is a Computer Science professor at Emory University. Before joining Emory, she completed her PhD at the University of Toronto and worked as a Postdoctoral Associate in the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), where she designed open-source tools that apply machine learning algorithms to improve hardware optimization. Nosayba is passionate about teaching, mentoring students, and promoting mental-health awareness.

  • AHMED MEGAHED

    Ahmed Megahed has a passion for technology and is constantly looking for ways to leverage technology for the better good. He's an advocate for refugee resettlement and dedicates his time assisting refugees with their integration into society. Ahmed currently works for Salesforce and has both a Bachelors in Computer Engineering and an MBA from The University of Houston. He's excited to be on Ethaar's advisory board where he will use his expertise to develop value added solutions.

  • SHOMAILA KHAN

    Shomaila lives by Mother Teresa's famous words, "Not all of us can do great things, but we can do small things with great love." She is passionate about helping those in need, volunteers at ICNA Relief’s Shifa Clinic and was instrumental in launching Helping the Community (HTC), a non-profit organization focused on helping families and those experiencing financial hardships. Shomaila is a Health-care practitioner by trade and has worked in various medical hospitals and institutions in the Atlanta area.
